About Cedric Williams

Belizean-American pharmacist. Moving-to-Belize guide writer. Your on-the-ground resource for living and retiring in Belize.

I'm Cedric Williams — and I didn't just research retiring in Belize from behind a desk. I lived it and learned what no guidebook tells you.

My Story

As a Belizean-American pharmacist, I've spent my career at the intersection of two worlds. Born with deep roots in Belize and shaped by years of professional practice in the United States, I've always had one foot in each country — which gives me a perspective most simply don't have.

When I started seriously exploring retirement in Belize, I quickly realized that most of the information out there was either outdated, overly generic, or written by people who had visited for a week, were biased, and called themselves experts. The real answers — about healthcare, cost of living, legal residency, banking, community, and day-to-day life — weren't in any single place.

So I started writing them down. From the ground.

Why I Write These Guides

My guides, and my personal assistance exist because I wish they had existed when I was doing my own research. As a pharmacist, I'm trained to cut through noise, evaluate sources critically, and give people information they can actually act on — and that's exactly how I approach every guide I write.

I write about what I've personally experienced or thoroughly verified: the Qualified Retired Persons (QRP) program, healthcare access and what to expect as a patient in Belize, affordable coastal communities versus jungle towns, what your dollar actually buys, and the social reality of expat life.

My goal is simple: help you make a confident, informed decision about whether Belize is right for you and how to make the move — without the fluff or the sales pitch.

My Connection to Belize & the Community

I'm not just a writer — I'm an active member of the "moving-to-Belize community". I run a Facebook group for Belize expats and retirees where thousands of members share real experiences, ask questions, and support one another through the transition. It's one of the most engaged and honest communities you'll find on the topic, not a sales pitch, and I'm proud to be part of it.

My Belizean heritage means I also bring cultural fluency that's hard to teach — I understand how things actually work, not just how they're supposed to work on paper.
